Mesh. The top mesh for the Type II curtain shall be 460 mm to 510 mm wide. The
upper portion of the vinyl curtain shall be either perforated to form the mesh
area or have an open weave synthetic material securely attached to the panel.
Side edges. The side edges shall have a stitched or heat sealed hem.
Window Curtain:
Material. The window curtain panels shall be fabricated of the same material
and treatment as specified for the shower curtain panel.
Rod Pocket. The top of each panel shall have a rod pocket sewn with a lock
stitch or heat sealed. The pocket shall be neatly tailored and shall
accommodate up to 25 mm curtain rod. The side and bottom edges shall be either
a stitched or heat sealed hem.
Tiebacks. Each pair of window panels shall have a pair of matching tiebacks
finished with two reinforced sewn eyelets. The tiebacks shall be a minimum of
0.10 mm thick vinyl folded double thickness and heat sealed. They shall be 460
mm long by 75 mm wide minimum.
Test requirements:
Flammability – Flammability testing shall be in
accordance with NFPA 701, Standard Test Methods of Fire Tests for Flame
Resistant Textiles and Films – Small Scale Test.
Mildew Resistance – Curtains shall pass, ASTM G-21 Resistance of Synthetic
Polymeric Materials to fungi, with a rating of (0) when observed for visible
effects.
Workmanship. The curtains and components shall be free
from defects such as cuts, tears, improperly sealed or stitched seams/hems, or
any other defect affecting appearance of serviceability of the item.
Quality Assurance Requirements. Each lot of curtains shall be inspected for
workmanship using inspection level II with AQL of 6.5 defects hundred units in
accordance with MIL-STD-105.
